Admission Open 2025

Right to Information (RTI)

Introduction

The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 is a landmark legislation enacted by the Government of India to promote transparency and accountability in public institutions. As public authorities under the purview of the RTI Act, colleges have a statutory obligation to uphold the citizens’ right to access information related to institutional governance, administration, and decision-making.

Colleges facilitate this process by designating a Public Information Officer (PIO) to respond to legitimate information requests filed under the Act. This empowers stakeholders—students, parents, faculty, and the public—to seek clarity on various aspects such as admission procedures, financial expenditures, academic policies, infrastructure development, and more.

By fostering a culture of openness and proactive disclosure, RTI strengthens participatory governance in higher education institutions and reinforces the commitment to ethical practices and institutional integrity.
