LL.B 3 Years Programme

Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi offers three-year (six semester) Undergraduate degree Programme of Bachelor in Law (LL.B.). The LL.B. Programme is designed to provide a strong foundation in legal principles, statutory interpretation, and judicial processes. With a well-structured curriculum approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), the programme combines classroom learning, moot courts, legal aid clinics, and interactive seminars to ensure a holistic understanding of law and justice.

    Eligibility:
  • Candidates must be graduates from a recognized university, or hold equivalent academic qualifications, in any discipline.
  • A minimum of 45% marks in the bachelor's degree is required.
    Mode of Admission:
  • Admission is based on performance in the LL.B Entrance Test, conducted in offline mode by the college.
    Schedule:
  • Application Forms: Available from the first week of April every year.
  • Entrance Test: Generally held on the first Sunday of July.
  • Result Declaration: Published on the third Monday of July.
  • Commencement of Classes: The new academic session begins in the first week of August.

Duration of the Programme

The duration of course, shall be of three academic years divided into Six Semesters and styled as LL.B Part-Ist, IInd & IIIrd and also Ist, IInd, IIIrd, IVth, Vth and VIth semester. To clear Part-I student has to pass University exam of Ist and IInd Semester, to clear Part-II student has to pass University exam of IIIrd and IVth semester and to clear LL.B. Part-IIIrd student has to pass Vth and VIth semesters including aggregate of pass marks in all the previous semesters. However a student is not prohibited to take admission in LL.B. Part-IInd or IIIrd without passing the University exam of Ist and IInd semester and/or without passing IIIrd and IVth semester.

Medium

The medium of instruction and examination shall be English/Hindi.

BBA.LL.B(H) 5 Years Programme

Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (BBA LL.B.) – Five Year Integrated Programme Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi offers a Five-Year (Ten Semester) Integrated Undergraduate Degree Programme of Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (BBA LL.B.). The BBA LL.B. Programme is designed to develop competent legal professionals equipped with sound knowledge of law, business administration, management, corporate governance, and public policy. The curriculum, approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), integrates legal education with management studies through classroom teaching, moot court exercises, legal aid activities, internships, case studies, seminars, and industry-oriented learning to ensure holistic academic and professional development.

Eligibility:
  • Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
  • General Category: Minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
  • SC/ST/PwD Categories: Minimum 40% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
Mode of Admission:
  • Admission through a valid CLAT Score; or
  • Admission through the Chotanagpur Law Entrance Test (CNLET) conducted by the College.
  • Selection shall be based on merit, subject to verification of documents, fulfillment of eligibility criteria, and availability of seats.
Duration of the Programme

The duration of the BBA LL.B. Programme shall be Five Academic Years divided into Ten Semesters and styled as BBA LL.B. Part-I, Part-II, Part-III, Part-IV, and Part-V, comprising Semester I to Semester X. For successful completion of the Programme, a student shall be required to pass all prescribed courses, practical components, clinical legal education papers, internships, project work, and examinations conducted in accordance with the applicable Academic and Examination Regulations of the College, the University, and the Bar Council of India.

Progression from one academic year to the next shall be governed by the Promotion Rules and Examination Regulations in force. The award of the BBA LL.B. Degree shall be made only after the successful completion of all Ten Semesters and fulfillment of all academic, attendance, internship, and other statutory requirements prescribed by the College, the University, and the Bar Council of India.
