LL.B Admission Process

Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi offers three-year (six semester) Undergraduate degree Programme of Bachelor in Law (LL.B.). The LL.B. Programme is designed to provide a strong foundation in legal principles, statutory interpretation, and judicial processes. With a well-structured curriculum approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), the programme combines classroom learning, moot courts, legal aid clinics, and interactive seminars to ensure a holistic understanding of law and justice.

    Eligibility:
  • Candidates must be graduates from a recognized university, or hold equivalent academic qualifications, in any discipline.
  • A minimum of 45% marks in the bachelor's degree is required.
    Mode of Admission:
  • Admission is based on performance in the LL.B Entrance Test, conducted in offline mode by the college.
    Schedule:
  • Application Forms: Available from the first week of April every year.
  • Entrance Test: Generally held on the first Sunday of July.
  • Result Declaration: Published on the third Monday of July.
  • Commencement of Classes: The new academic session begins in the first week of August.

Duration of the Programme

The duration of course, shall be of three academic years divided into Six Semesters and styled as LL.B Part-Ist, IInd & IIIrd and also Ist, IInd, IIIrd, IVth, Vth and VIth semester. To clear Part-I student has to pass University exam of Ist and IInd Semester, to clear Part-II student has to pass University exam of IIIrd and IVth semester and to clear LL.B. Part-IIIrd student has to pass Vth and VIth semesters including aggregate of pass marks in all the previous semesters. However a student is not prohibited to take admission in LL.B. Part-IInd or IIIrd without passing the University exam of Ist and IInd semester and/or without passing IIIrd and IVth semester.

Medium

The medium of instruction and examination shall be English/Hindi.
