The Chotanagpur Law Journal is a peer-review Journal published by Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi invites submissions for Volume XVII, from scholars, academicians, legal practitioners, and students. The journal aims to publish original, high-quality articles offering in-depth analysis, insights, and discussions on contemporary legal issues.

ABOUT CHOTANAGPUR LAW COLLEGE, RANCHI

The Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi was established in 1954. It is registered under section 2 (f)& 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956 and it is also accredited with B++ from National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). With the recent conferment of autonomous status by UGC, the institution now enjoys greater academic freedom to design its curriculum, introduce innovative teaching methods, and strengthen its role as a pioneer in legal education in Jharkhand.It aslo holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and most esteemed legal institution in Jharkhand. Initially it was affiliated with Bihar University, and later became permanently affiliated with Ranchi University, Ranchi. Devoted to justice delivery, legal education and research, as well as judicial reforms, the college focuses on serving marginalized communities and aims to provide a comprehensive education that instills both human and spiritual values.

Beyond the physical construction of concrete, iron, stone, bricks, and mortar, the college stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and generosity of Late Barrister S. K. Sahay, as well as countless individuals who have devoted themselves to delivering the highest quality education to the tribal region. Its inception was driven by faith, hope, and love, with a foundation built upon principles of discipline, scholarship, and service. Over the years, the college's alumni have achieved remarkable success in the legal field nationwide.

THEME AND SCOPE

We welcome submissions on a broad range of legal and socio-legal issues, including but not limited to:

  • • Constitutional Law and Human Rights
  • • Criminal Law and Justice Reforms
  • • Corporate and Commercial Law
  • • Environmental Law and Sustainable Development
  • • Technology Law, AI, and Data Privacy
  • • International Law and Global Governance
  • • Emerging Legal Issues in India and Abroad

Submissions may include:

  • Research Articles: Comprehensive studies with original arguments and critical analysis.
  • Book review
  • Case Analysis

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. Abstract Submission:
    • Abstract of not more than 500 words with 3-5 keywords.
    • Abstracts should provide a clear outline of the topic, research questions, and objectives
    • Early submissions will be given priority in the review process.
  2. Manuscript Submission:
    • Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
    • Manuscripts should be in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5-line spacing.
    • Use the Bluebook (latest) footnoting style for citations.
    • Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single line spacing.
    • Manuscripts should be divided into clear sub-parts for readability.
    • Charts, graphs, and illustrations (if any) should be original and submitted separately in high resolution.
    • File format: Word Document (.doc or .docx)

  • • The subject line should mention: “Submission for Volume 17 – [Your Name]
  • • Kindly mention in the manuscript:
    • Author’s full name, designation, and institution.
    • Contact details and email ID.
    • Include Plagiarism Report (Manuscript with plagiarism exceeding 10% will be rejected.)

IMPORTANT DATES

  • • Release of Call for Papers: 10thNov. 2025
  • • Manuscript Submission: 15th Jan. 2026
  • • Final Acceptance (Post-Plagiarism and Editorial Review): 20th Feb. 2026
  • • Tentative Online Publication: 15th March 2026
