Code to Combat Sexual Harassment

WHEREAS Chotanagpur Law College is committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all members of its academic community. To ensure the protection of individuals from sexual harassment, the College has formulated a comprehensive framework, referred to as the Code to Combat Sexual Harassment

AND WHEREAS, In adherence to the University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023 (Notification No. F.1-13/2022(CPP-II)), the College strongly condemns sexual harassment on campus and enforces strict disciplinary measures in accordance with the Code.

NOW THEREFORE, the Code to Combat Sexual Harassment for Chotanagpur Law College shall be as follows:

Definition of Sexual Harassment

Under this Code, sexual harassment is classified as Unwelcome Sexual Conduct, which includes but is not limited to:

  • 1. Unwelcome sexual advances, whether verbal, non-verbal, or physical.
  • 2. Unwelcome acts of physical intimacy, including inappropriate touching or coercion.
  • 3. Unwelcome requests for sexual favors, including oral, textual, or graphic representations of a sexual nature directed at an individual, in their presence, or referring to them.
Sexual Harassment Inquiry Committee

To ensure the prompt resolution of complaints and grievances related to violations of this Code, the Principal, Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi has constituted the Sexual Harassment Inquiry Committee. This Committee is responsible for addressing complaints, conducting inquiries, and ensuring fair proceedings.

Reporting a Complaint

Any individual who experiences or witnesses sexual harassment is encouraged to report their complaint to the Sexual Harassment Inquiry Committee via email at info@cnlawcollege.ac.in. For further information, refer to the official notification here.
