Atul Gera is a proud alumuns of Chotanagpur Law College. Also an active volunteer in many social organisations of Ranchi but most importantly voluntary groups called lifesavers Ranchi , Jharkhand thalassaemia Foundation and Jharkhand Sickle Cell Foundation where he has been loud voice for patients living with Thalassemia and Sickle Cell anaemia. He has been active into voluntary blood donation movement for last 15 years. These voluntary organisations have done more than 1500 blood donation drives for government blood banks. He has personally donated blood / blood products 110 times till date.

Jharkhand thalassaemia Foundation is supporting couple of daycare centres which give comprehensive care thalassaemia and Sickle Cell anaemia patients. Atul is part of lot of state and national organisations including government working for blood transfusion services in India. He is a doer and believes in action,  advocates issues related to health, does not hesitate to take the government head on with  tools like RTI, PIL, Twitter and other social media to voice the public issues.

His legal background and network helps resolving a lot of issues of patients requiring legal support and intervention.

He is closely connected with the CNLC for various social causes positively impacting the society.
