Dr. Raju Majhi is born and brought up in the Steel City, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He did his Graduation from Karim City College, Jamshedpur and LL.B. from Jamshedpur Cooperative Law College, Jamshedpur under Ranchi University.  He did his LL.M. from Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He joined as an Assistant Professor in 2007 and presently he is working as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.  

He has teaching experience of more than 19 years and he obtained his Ph.D. Degree from Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on the topic “Tribal Law and their Implementation: A Case Study of Chhotanagpur” under the supervision of Prof. B. C. Nirmal.  He was the Managing Editor of BHU News Letter and Associate Editor of the Banaras Law Journal.  He holds many important administrative responsibilities.  He was Student Advisor of Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi continuously for 8 years and Chairman of Football, and Executive Member of the University Sports Board, Banaras Hindu University for 4 years.  

He was an Administrative Warden of Chanakya Hostel, Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi for 6 years.  He has contributed 25 Chapters in Edited Books published in various National and International reputed publishers.  He edited 5 books authored 2 books.  He has presented research paper more than 200 National and International Conferences.  He has also chaired and delivered lectures as a Resources Person on various academic platforms.  He has guided more than 60 LL.M. Dissertations and 6 Ph.D. have been awarded under his supervision and presently 5 Ph.D. Scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. under him.  

He is Life Member of the Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi, and a Life Member of Academique - A Discussion Group, Varanasi.  He is also a Life Member of the Environmental and Consumer Protection Foundation, New Delhi.  He is the recipient of the Best Research Paper Award.  He is also a Member of the Scholars Academic and Scientific Society.  He is also a recipient of various academician awards like the Indian Prime 100 Professors Award-2021, Bharatjyoti Shiksha Ratan Award-2021, Mindful Educator of the Year-2021, and Distinguished Teacher Award-2022.  His areas of interest include Tribal Laws, Family Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, International Law, Human Rights, Labour Laws, and Banking Laws etc.
