Fee Return Policy

WHEREAS, the College has been adhering to the provisions outlined in the UGC Notification on Refund of Fees & Non-Retention of Original Certificates, 2018, and Fee Refund Policies/ Guidelines issued from time to time. In accordance with these provisions, the College has been refunding the fees to students who cancelled their admissions.

AND WHEREAS, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a policy regarding the Fee Refund for the Academic year 2024-25 on June 12, 2024, vide letter D.O.No.F.2- 71/2022(CPPII) (C-114546), outlining the procedures for the refund of fees due to cancellations of admissions/ migration of students for the Academic Year 2024-25.

NOW THEREFORE, the Fee Refund Policy for Chotanagpur Law College for the Concerned Academic Year shall be as follows:

Refund Provisions for Admission Cancellation:

  1. Cancellations up to 30 September for the concerned Academic Year:
    1. Full refund of academic fees and refundable deposits.
    2. No deduction shall be applied.
  2. Cancellations on or after 1st November for the concerned Academic Year:
    1. Refund of academic fees and refundable deposits after deduction of ₹1,000 as a processing charge.
  3. Cancellations on or after 1st November for the concerned Academic Year:
    1. No refund of academic fees.
    2. Only refundable deposits will be returned.
Additional Refund Provisoins Beyond 31st October for the concerned Academic Year:

For admission cancellations occurring beyond the date mentioned above, the following refund slabs as per UGC Notification (October 2018) shall apply:

Time of Withdrawal Percentage of Refund of Fees
15 days or more before the formally notified last date of admission 100%
Less than 15 days before the formally notified last date of admission 90%
Up to 15 days after the formally notified last date of admission 80%
Between 16-30 days after the formally notified last date of admission 50%
After 30 days from the formally notified last date of admission No Refund
Other Terms and Conditions:
  1. The Accounts Section shall process the refund request upon the submission of a duly completed application, accompanied by the original fee receipt and one cancelled cheque. The designated account must be in the name of either the student or their parent.
  2. Refund shall be processed through electronic transfer only.
  3. Refund requests shall be processed within 90 working days following the completion of the registration process for enrolled students for the academic session at Ranchi University.
  4. Any delay in or denial of refund shall be addressed by the provisions of the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023.
  5. The College shall not be liable for delays due to incorrect details provided by students during the refund request.
Compliance and Governance:
  • The refund process shall be monitored by the Finance Officer, ensuring transparency in execution.
  • Students with grievances regarding refunds may approach the Grievance Redressal Committee constituted by the College.

This policy is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority and shall remain in force unless superseded by new guidelines issued by UGC or the College administration.

Any amendments made to the UGC Guidelines regarding the Refund Policy shall be automatically incorporated into the Chotanagpur Law College Fee Refund Policy to ensure compliance and consistency.
